Album Info:Even through I spend a lot of time in the Capital District, I was unaware of this spectacular photo location in western Albany County. I have fellow poster Drake Szczepanski to thank for making me aware of this spot with his Editor's Pick photo that also shows up every now and again on the homepage. Place name is a bit ambiguous. There are photos of this bridge here on RRPictureArchives that list the location as alternately Fullers, Guilderland Center, and Guilderland, NY. All three are technically correct. My choice would be to call the place Fullers. Morning light is the best time for photos here. I arrived shortly after 6:00 a.m., and didn't wait 10 minutes for the first train; a westbound manifest freight. I saw two more trains in a span of 40 minutes on this busy line. The photos are taken from a footbridge over the Normanskill Creek. As a rail photographer, you don't have a view down the track to see an approaching headlight, so I stood and listened. I generally could tell a train was approaching about 15-20 seconds before it entered that rather narrow photographic window out on the trestle; just enough time to turn on the camera and set up for the shot.
