Album Info:If you ever get down to Roanoke, Virginia, make sure you visit the Virginia Museum of Transportation downtown! Located in the former Norfolk & Western freight station, the depot has a ton of rare, historic engines, including the famous Norfolk & Western 611! There is also an extensive car collection as well with some very rare models. Worth a visit if you are ever in the area!

Title:  Virginian 135
Description:  Built in 1956 and used for coal trains, this engine was only serviceable to the Virginian until 1962, when the railroad dieselized. It found a second job running on the New Haven Railroad between New Haven, Connecticut, and New York City.

Description:  Built in 1967, originally used for freights, then yard service in the 1970s. Note the blue paint scheme. Former Wabash president Herman Pevler was president of the N&W from 1963 to 1970, and he had engines painted in a blue similar to that of his former railroad during that era.

Title:  Nickel Plate Road 470
Description:  The Nickel Plate Road was the nickname of the New York, Chicago, and St. Louis Railroad, which merged with Norfolk Southern in 1964. This caboose was built 2 years prior to the merger and continued to serve on the Norfolk & Western until the 1980s, when with the end of caboose service it was donated to the museum.
