Album Info:This is the next album of Conrail SD50's that were photographed mostly by CR conductor Ken Taylor while they were working or in a CR yard. Since CR purchased a total of 135 units between 1983 and 1986, it made them the second largest owner of the model next to CSX, which ordered a total of 144 units.

Description:  In the growing darkness, CR SD50 6748 sits waiting for another assignment from the Conway yard. This 5 month old SD50 unit was captured by CR conductor Ken Taylor. After the CR breakup, this loco would become NS 5426.

A pair of new CR SD50's
Title:  A pair of new CR SD50's
Description:  Delivered by EMD in April of 1985, CR SD50 #6783 sits with a "pack" of other blue CR units. The 135 SD50 units that Conrail ordered between 1983-86 took care of the growing power demand as shipping increased following the Staggers Act passage. After the CR breakup, this loco would become NS 5448. CR conductor Ken Taylor took the color slide of this CR "pack".

Title:  CR SD50 #6789
Description:  Barely 3 months old, this CR SD50 is proving to be a good choice to handle the Conrail region. Conrail invested in 135 SD50 units, second only to CSX, as owning the most of this new model. CR condustor Ken Taylor snapped the color slide as #6789 rested by the diesel refill.

Description:  CR SD50 #6784 sits almost nose to nose with CNW SD50 #7017 but on parallel tracks hence the height difference between the two. Both were built by EMD in 1985. Upon CR breakup, #6784 became CSX 8678. The color slide was taken by CR conductor Ken Taylor as the two were in the Conway yard.
