Description:
Fair quality photo of a massive Chesapeake & Ohio 2-6-6-2 Mallet Mogul steam locomotive built by Alco-Richmond in September of 1918 originally as Hocking Valley #218. The loco was absorbed into the C&O roster in 1930 as #1293. In 1952, it was sold for scrap to the Luria Brothers. Specs - serial #60223, class 200/H-3, nee-CO #218, 56.25" drivers, 220 psi boiler pressure, 22x32" high pressure cylinders, 35x32" low pressure cylinders, engine weight of 437,000 lb, massive tractive effort of 102,950 lb. No date, location or photographer was listed for this photo.
