Norfolk Southern GP38 #2880 was built June 1966 for the original Norfolk Southern as #2001 (Southern Railway installed high-short hoods on these units upon acquisition) and later became Southern Railway #2880. Unit left NS roster and became Luxapalila Valley Railroad (LXVR) #2880
