CSX 8786 on CSX Q237 after crossing incident  Contributor's Pick!
Plant avenue was a pretty busy road through the heart of the former CSX Fitzgerald Sub interlocking with the Jesup Sub. The crossing in the picture was only protected by crossbucks. Its a pretty tight curve on both sides so the trains were going fairly slow however we all know motorists. In shooting there mutiple occasions, we had many close calls. This day, we were down at Racepond when we heard about this over the radio and this is what we found when we arrived. The culprit is the semi and only minor damage appears to have been inflicted to the snowplow and handrails. This crossing and the line itself has been eliminated with the relocation of the interlocking closer to Rice Yard.
