sadly this sort of scene has been on the decline as the former branchline empires of the NP,GN,and UP continue to slowly fade out of existence.when I lived for a brief time in SE Washington I became sorely aware of the dwindling and truncated mileage of the branchlines,I was fortunate to be able to photograph the Camas Prarie Lewiston to Grangeville line thru Lapawai canyon before the line was truncated, but unfortunately was under abandonment procedings, and therefore no trains.Someday all that will remain here are the remains of the railbed alongside the elevators.
