Ringling Bros train  Contributor's Pick!
The Ringling Brothers circus usually played the Nassai Coliseum in Uniondale in late November and December. They would run the train out on the Mitchell Field Secondary to access the Coliseum, as it was the closest place to it, and where they could tie up a 60 odd car train. The morning after the circus closed, the train would run west via the Hempstead Branch and Main Line to Long Island City, where Amtrak power would go on, and it would run to Jersey via Penn Station. Here we see it coming around the curve at Floral Park.
