| CN local slowly crawls across the former C&NW bridge over the frigid Fox River as it prepares to service Expera Specialty Solutions mill (formerly Thilmany Pulp and Paper Co., from 1883 until 26 Jun. '13) at Kaukauna, WI on 4 Jan. '15. Railroad bridge was built by American Bridge Co. of New York in 1911. A portion of the old Thilmany mill, saved from the wrecking ball, is visible behind the locomotives. The current, newer, mill looms out of frame to the right. Kaukauna’s Veterans Memorial Bridge, the vertical lift bridge, reflects the last rays of the setting sun behind the remnants of the old mill. |
