Amtrak K Tower
Tower K, constructed in 1906, is located in Washington DC's Union Station, and controls the movements of all Amtrak, Maryland Area Regional Commuter (MARC) and Virginia Railway Express (VRE) trains on 22 tracks. And there are over 100 trains per day that use this station (a little fewer on weekends), and many change from diesel power to electric power (or vice versa) here, making the operators located in Tower K extremely busy! On this visit there were four operators keeping everything moving seamlessly. (Photographed on railroad property with permission and full PPE.)
