Among other places the ERA trip visited on this excursion, were several yards. Here we are riding through Concourse Yard in the Bronx, home of a wide variety of cars that ran on the CC and D trains. The CC, a maid of all work local that ran from Bedford Park Blvd to Chamber St(It wasn't the World Trade Center yet) was assigned R1/9's and R 10's. The D train, which ran to Coney Island, got R32's and R42's mostly. At the time, the R 42's were some of the newest cars on the system-and the AC mostly worked. |
