CN 4700 and GTW 6420
CN local pauses on the north leg of the wye at the north end of the former SOO yard at Neenah, WI on 10 Apr. '16. They will then pull past the turnout for the east leg of the wye, then back into the yard. The silo is the last significant remnant of the defunct Fox Valley Energy Center (formerly Minergy Fox Valley Glass Aggregate Plant). Opened in Jan. '98, it has stood idle since 15 Jun. '13. Demolition is nearly complete, after several delays. The silo fell sometime between 17 and 22 Apr. '16, a large pile of broken concrete is about all that remains and will soon be removed and recycled. The industry background left is Clearwater Paper Corp., 249 N. Lake St., Neenah, WI (physically located in Town of Menasha), a frequent rail customer. The tracks in the foreground are the east leg of the wye.
