Horseshoe Curve-1966. Here is an original photo that I took at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, during early May of 1966. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #7018, a GP-9 B-unit whose number is not visible, and #7126. All three are EFS-17M's built by EMD and rated at 1,750 horsepower each. #7018 was built in 1955, but #7126 was built in 1957. These locomotives are visible across the valley from underneath one of the freight cars they are pulling! |
