PRR 6124, EF-36, 1967
Mid-Mountain. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train West of Altoona, Pennsylvania, during mid-December of 1967. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #6124 and three other units whose numbers were not recorded. All were built by EMD. #6124 is an EF-36 built in 1966 and rated at 3,600 horsepower. They are pulling a westbound mixed-cargo freight train up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West.
