7th Street. Here is an original telephoto view that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad trains in Altoona, Pennsylvania, during March of 1966. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #6001, #6304, and another unit whose number is not recorded. #6001 is an EF-25A built by EMD in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #6304 is an AF-27 built by the American Locomotive Company in 1965 and rated at 2,700 horsepower. They are pushing a mixed-cargo freight train under the 7th Street Bridge on their way up the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve to Gallitzin, where they will uncouple and return to East Altoona to make another run up the Mountains.
