NJT 4011
The PL42AC is a 4,200 hp diesel-electric locomotive built by Alstom with an EMD 16-710 prime mover for NJ Transit. The 33 units, 4000 - 4032, were manufactured at the Meinfesa plant in Valencia, Spain in 2003. The units were then assembled at the Alstom Transport plant in Hornell, NY in 2004 and were delivered throughout early 2006. Of the 33 units, 32 remain in service at NJ Transit. Unit 4011 is seen here shoving an eastbound Bergen County Line train made up of Comet V passenger cars (also built by Alstom) out of Secaucus, NJ.
