| Winter Night. Here is an original telephoto view that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, during February of 1966. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #2299, #2656, and another unit whose number is not recorded. #2299 is an EF-25 built by EMD in 1964 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2656 is a GF-25 built by General Electric in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They are pulling a mixed-cargo freight train, and are about to pass the Altoona Station on their way up the Allegheny Mountians via the Horseshoe Curve to Gallitzin and points West. |
