WIL-ALT-65. Here is an original photo that I took while riding in a Pennsylvania Railroad paŠsenger train from Harrisburg to Altoona during August of 1965. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engine #2247 and another unit whose number is not recorded. Both were built by EMD1 #2247 is an EF-22 built in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. They are pulling an eastbound mixed-cargo freight train near Mount Union, Pennsylvania. Note the steepness of the mountain slope bordering the tracks! |
