CNW 4-8-4 #3032 - Chicago & North Western  Contributor's Pick!       
An unknown photographer caught this massive Baldwin 4-8-4 Northern type steam locomotive in the Proviso Yard all steamed up and loaded for its next run. Specs - class H, serial #61124, 76" drivers, impressive 250 psi boiler pressure, 27x32" cylinders, engine weight of 498,000 lb, tractive effort of 65,226 lb. The loco was later rebuilt on August 31, 1946 and reclassified as H-1. The loco was finally retired on December 6, 1956. Unknown photographer
