Here is page eight of a 16-page article entitled "Test Department And Chemical Laboratory Of The Pennsylvania Railroad." It was published originally in the November 1941 issue of "Mutual Magazine," page 47. Right Photo Caption: "M-1 locomotive 4700 on locomotive test plant." Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4700, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built in Juniata during October of 1923, renumbered "6699" in 1933, and retired in July of 1950 after 27 years of faithful service. This is the original Pennsy "Mountain."
