Built in May of 1948 by EMD for the Canadian National, this lucky F3A unit has survived. A note on back states "CN 9000 (FeA) has been donated to the Alberta Pioneer Railway Association of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The unit is minus its batteries and has a water leak into one of the cylinders but it is hoped these problems can be overcome and the unit will be able to operate on the association's museum site which is presently under development of north of Edmonton. Other operating motive power of the group is NAR #73 (2-8-0) and CN #1392 (4-6-0). Don Scafe photo |
