PRR 400, H-9S, c. 1949         
Here is a photo of Pennsylvania Railroad engine #400, an H-9S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during September of 1913 and retired in November of 1949 after 36 years of faithful service. Note that the main driving rods have been removed in preparation for scrapping. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. Raymond C. Laws Collection.
