Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Weirton, West Virginia, on 30 August 1964. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #8996 and another unit whose number is not recorded. #8996 is a BS-7 switcher built by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton in March of 1951 and rated at 750 horsepower. Note the locomotive's nickname written above the radiator tarp: "Hello Dolly"! ("Tchowee"; #18 of 36) |
