Texas Pacific-Missouri Pacific Terminal Railroad of New Orleans (TPMPT) 0-6-0 No. 2 was at the railroad’s RACE STREET YARD shortly before it was retired and sold to the New Orleans Coal & Bisso Towboat Co. The loco had been built by Alco’s Richmond Works in June 1907 (42929) as Trinity & Brazos Valley 76 for use at Galveston, then it became Houston Municipal 2 in 1917 and moved to the TPMPT sometime after 1921. After being replaced by Alco diesels, it - and its twin No. 1 - was sold to Bisso for moving hopper cars; however, No. 2 was never relettered for its new owner and may have never been used. Bisso’s coaling operation ended around 1955, but No. 2 remained on Bisso property until 2010, when it was donated to the Louisiana Railway Heritage Trust. |
