Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken in Indianapolis, Indiana, on 7 October 1956. The photographer is not identified. Prominent at the left (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9710 and two more units whose road numbers are not recorded. #9710 is a BF-16 built by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton in December of 1950, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in July of 1966 after just 16 years of revenue service. At the right is Wabash Railroad F7A #1165 (built by GM-EMD in June of 1950) coupled to an unidentified PRR freight unit. ("Stoneborobranch"; #9 of 19) |
