A CN local passes the W. Cecil St. overpass (Timothy Hamblin Bridge) as it traverses the former SOO yard at Neenah, WI, on 4 Apr. '21. Local had one locomotive, GTW 5852, and a caboose, WC 15. Sorry, but I will not willingly utter the phrase "shoving platform" to describe a piece of rolling stock which is obviously a caboose. A remnant of the former C&NW main line, now relegated to a spur, also in use by CN, can be seen in the background. The overpass, erected to eliminate the grade crossing, opened to traffic on 20 Nov. '07. The sign at the right is a reminder of that former grade crossing, it says "Main & Pass - Do Not Park Cars Between Here & Crossing." WC 15 is a former AC caboose. According to http://trainweb.org/algoma/cabooses.html, it was built in 1976 as AC 9606. However, the last number under the WC logo looks more like a 2 than a 6 (AC 9602 was renumbered WC 12 according to that web site). |
