SAL 4500
Aside from the year there is no information on the slide. The month and day are approximate. Per Chuck Zeiler's comment, the likely location is McCook, IL, at the Pielet Bros. setout track. Unknown photographer, from the Ralph L. Phillips collection of the Bay State Model Railroad Museum.

Gary Hart General This cannot be McCook,Illinois. the SAL FA-1's were NOT traded in until 1966 on GP-40 and in 1957 they were on the job in Florida. The centepiede was NOT traded in, rather scrapped at W.Jax in 1961. 1/25/2024 4:44:21 PM
Gary Hart General If this is a true 1957 slide, it is in Florida and likely still in service. But the end of service was not far away. I believe it is Tampa,Fl as the location, but sure not Illinois. 1/25/2024 4:45:53 PM
