WAB 4-8-4 #2910 - Wabash RR
Another fine example of a Baldwin 4-8-4 Northern type locomotive built in November of 1930 is this Wabash #2910. The loco lasted until being scrapped in January of 1956 after nearly 26 years. This looks like the scrap line since the main rod has been removed. Specs - serial #61516, class 01, 70" drivers, 29 x 32" cylinders, impressive 250 psi boiler pressure, engine weight of 454,090 lbs and a tractive effort of 70,817 lb. No date, location or photographer was given for the photo. Piecing together info makes me think this is Decatur, IL around its scrap date, hence the 11/1955 date.
