Byerly. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Fred Byerly. Shown here is Penn Central Railroad engine #4977, an E40 (B-B) electric built by General Electric as New Haven Railroad EP-5 number "377" in June of 1955, rated at 4,000 horsepower, absorbed by the Penn Central and renumbered "4977," and retired in 1979 after 24 years of faithful service. The photographer's name, the exact date, and the location are not recorded. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Electric Railroading ~ Penn Central and Pennsylvania Lines" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (868-8).
