Amtrak P42s lead the southbound Coast Starlight through Bradley, California. The hills in the background are home to oil wells and cattle ranches for the most part. Bradley is a small community of 90 or so people, settled in the mid 1880s when the Southern Pacific Railroad built through this area. Today, Bradley is the site of a siding on the Coast Line, and the bridge over the Salinas River is just south of town. #11 is running right on time today, and will arrive at her next stop in Paso Robles in just over 20 minutes. |
