Louisiana & Delta’s BREAUX BRIDGE JOB was westbound on the BNSF in Lafayette, Louisiana, as it crossed South Loop Street and entered the BNSF yard. CF7 1508 still had its original paint job, with gray trucks and underbody, while the 1501 had the newer black paint scheme. The three covered hoppers came from Cargill’s Breaux Bridge salt mine, while the tank cars came from the Enterprise Products terminal at the end of the line. The Breaux Bridge Branch is the last remnant of a line the once ran all the way to the Mississippi River, across from Baton Rouge. |
