Caltrain 922 shoves north with another weekend commute for San Fran. 922 is one of three Boise F40s Caltrain owns, having been built in 1998. These 3200-horsepower units are essentially the same as a standard EMD F40PH, but have some upgraded components, including a separate HEP generator for quieter station stops. 922 was the newest engine in the Caltrain fleet until the arrival of MPI MP36s in 2003. |
