CNW 4-6-2 #597 - Chicago & North Western         
This good looking 4-6-2 Pacific was one of over 180 4-6-2's that supported the Chicago & North Western commuter service around Chicago & Milwaukee. Built by Alco-Schenectady in March of 1914 as CNW #1597, it was much later renumbered to just CNW 597 as seen here. No final disposition date was found for the loco. Specs - class E, 75" drivers, 185 psi boiler pressure, 25x28" cylinders, engine wt of 261,000 lb, tractive effort of 36,700 lb. A stoker was apllied in March of 1944. No photographer was listed for the photo.
