| This is an Alco-Schenectady builder's photo of Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific 2-8-2 #2688 built in April of 1927. Specs - 63" drivers, 215 psi boiler pressure, 28x30" cylinders, engine wt of 355,600 lb and tractive effort of 68,227 lb. With an added booster, the te increased by 11,244 lb. The loco was retired and sold for scrap in February of 1953 after 26 years of service. |
