MILW 2-8-2 #344         
This USRA heavyweight Mikado MILW #344 is still sitting in the scrap line at Bensenville, IL after being retired two years earlier. Originally built by Alco-Brooks in October of 1918 as CM&StP #8638, it was later renumbered in 1938 to MILw 344. The loco was officially retired in January of 1951 after nearly 33 years of service.. Specs - L3 class, 63" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 27x32" cylinders, engine wt of 320,000 lb and tractive effort of 62,949 lb. This is a Guhr photo.
