Description: |
Cab Ride. Here is an original photo that I took after riding in the cab of a Pennsylvania Railroad passenger locomotive from Pittsburgh to Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 29 December 1962. Shown here (L to R) are Mr. Thomas H. Lantz, the locomotive engineman, Mr. R.K. "Slim" Creighton (our PRR Escort), and the locomotive fireman. They are standing next to PRR engine #5708, an EP-22 built by EMD in 1952 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. It is parked at the Altoona Station, at the end of our journey on a very snowy afternoon! Anyone recognize the two enginemen? |
