Title:
D&RGW 2-8-2 Class K-37 498
Description:
D&RGW 2-8-2 Class K-37 498 at Alamosa, Colorado on August 18, 1965, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 498 was built by Baldwin in 1902 as a standard gauge 2-8-0, D&RG Class 190 1109. It was renumbered to Class C-41 1009, rebuilt during 1930 at D&RGW's Burnham Shops to D&RGW narrow gauge K-37 498. It is seen here having the flues renewed. Unfortunately, I was in the neighborhood for only a week, so I did not see it under steam.
