Description:  TRB. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Fred Kern that was taken at the Rockville Bridge near Marysville, Pennsylvania, on 20 October 1957. In this photo, a westbound Pennsylvania Railroad passenger train meets an eastbound freight at the western end of the Bridge as Peter's Mountain guards the far shore of the Susquehanna River. All of the locomotives pictured here were built by GM-EMD. At the right (L to R) are engines #5849 and two more "EP" Class units whose numbers are not recorded; #5849 is an EP-20 built in August of 1947 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. At the left (R to L) are engines #9662 and another "EF" Class unit whose number is not recorded; #9662 is an EF-15A built in February of 1950 and rated at 1,500 horsepower. Richard R. Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5849 is an EP-20 built by GM-EMD in August of 1947 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. The eastbound freight train is headed by PRR engine #9662, an EF-15A built by GM-EMD in February of 1950 and rated at 1,500 horsepower.

Description:  17th Street. Here is an original photo that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad locomotives in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 10 July 1965. Shown here are the Locomotive Ready Tracks below the 17th Street Bridge; many makes and models are represented. Of the 40 or so locomotives visible, the following are identifiable by number. Starting from the right are PRR engines #7118, #7124, #9662, #6302, and #6308. #7118 and #7124 are EFS-17M's built by EMD in 1957 and rated at 1,750 horsepower each. #9662 is an EF-15A built by EMD in 1950 and rated at 1,500 horsepower. #6302 and #6308 are AF-27's built by the American Locomotive Company in 1965 and rated at 2,700 horsepower each.
