PRR 5618, BS-7, c. 1953 |
Description: |
Here is an original photo by Douglas C. Jones that was taken in Orangeville, Maryland, c. 1953. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5618, a BS-7 built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in June of 1950, rated at 750 horsepower, and retired in September of 1965 after just 15 years of revenue service. Note the damaged crew cabin; perhaps that's why it's being towed. |
