Description:
White-lined and sitting in the scrap line is this massive Chesapeake & Ohio 2-6-6-2 Mallet Mogul steam locomotives. Built by Alco-Schenectady in February of 1917 as CO #820, it was renumbered 1421 in August of 1924. The loco met up with the scrapper's torch at Richmond in the spring of 1961. Specs - serial #56605, class H-4,, 56" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 22x32" high pressure cylinders, 35x32" low pressure cylinders, engine weight of 435,000 lb, tractive effort of 93,600 lb. No date was give for the slide but it was marked as "Charly's duplicate slide".
