Description:  If you look hard enough you can see the old SOU number under the paint. Apparently the same number stencil that was used for the C&G cab number was also the same used for the number boards.

Description:  The engine that wolud go on to make me a Southern Railway fan, the CAGY 701. Ex SOU (CNO&TP) 6247. Unfortunately almost 4 1/2 years after this picture was taken, it and the unit behind it were scrapped in April 2009. Luckily though the scrapper allowed me to get the number boards so I have that if nothing else.

Description:  The front nose of the 701 lies in a pile of scrap years after rolling off the LaGrange floor in 1955. In her 40 some odd years of opperation she served the Southern Railway and the C&G well but in the end fate won out.
