Description:  On Saturday, July 12th, 2014, 5 BNSF cars left Seattle on the rear of the EB #8 EMPIRE BUILDER over the ex-GN Stevens Pass line (Scenic Sub), seen here entering the west portal of the 7.8 mile Cascade Tunnel. Consist was #52 GLORIETA PASS, #68 ROLLINS PASS, #31 BAY VIEW, #11 FRED HARVEY, and #32 WILLIAM B. STRONG. In the photo are #68, #31, and #11. Description:  The Santa Fe had 8 of these cars, and Amtrak never got them because they weren't willing to pay Santa Fe's price! Santa Fe did sell 7, but kept this one, still part of the BNSF fleet today. The coach was built in 1954 with 57 coach seats and 18 lounge seats on the upper level, and a 28 seat lounge on the lower level-along with a nurse's office! Right under the bridge, so I couldn't get a great shot of it-still a beautiful car.

Description:  On 1 March 2024 BNSF power car 52 MOUNT BAKER, office car 8 JOHN S. REED and full-length dome car 31 CARL ICE were outbound on the Wabtec-BNSF interchange with Union Pacific AC4400CWM units 5769 and 5710. The passenger cars had been at Wabtec for a few days for a corporate meeting.
