FA to Oyster Bay  Contributor's Pick!
An Oyster Bay train takes to the branch, this FA trailing, as was common in those days. Former "zip" car 2716 is first out behind the FA. These were originally MP 75's, acquired for the 1964/65 World's Fair, and were painted in the blue with orange stripe scheme, lettered "Your steel thruway to the Fair gateway." They were converted to diesel hauled cars after the M 1's arrived between 1968 and 72. There were a few that still had their lit nuberboards on the side, even at this late date.
